Your Dreams Are Totally Unrealistic, Or Are They?

BlogHer: You’re Achieving, But Still Not Happy. What’s The Deal?

Long Media Bio

In her rockin’ bold black cat eye glasses and creative DIY punk wears, Sarah of Totally Rad Life! truly lives her mission which is to Be Real & Live Rad. Sarah is the no BS life coach and strategist for creatives and multi-passionate Gen Xers, Millennials, and Post-Millennials helping them bust outta their shell so they can impact the world (and make money) doing what they love.

Sarah grew up in an abusive and highly dysfunctional environment and endured parental drug addiction as well as homelessness. By 13, Sarah was a survivor of sexual assault, virtually parentless, and alone in the world which led to negative and irresponsible behaviors as well as self-harm. At 16, she became pregnant and parenthood changed her life. Sarah’s sole purpose was to create a positive and happy life for her and her daughter and this is where refocusing on her creativity and channeling her emotions through her art became very therapeutic. From each piece, she was able to uncover emotions she hadn’t previously been aware of which aided her in deep self-reflection and supported the resolution of past issues.  Sarah’s work is raw and puts her vulnerabilities on display, but she’s determined to show up as her authentic self and also encourages other creatives to do the same by changing their mindset and getting visible.

Sarah is a serial learner and is currently expanding her coaching knowledge through the Erickson Coaching International’s Art & Science of Coaching program. Sarah has a wealth of experience from  over 15 years in IT and web development, working for top Fortune 500 companies, creating for over 25 years , studying alongside Disney & Pixar artists, publishing zines and interviewing notable people in the music industry like Dick Dale, Keith Morris, and Pat Thetic to name a few.

Sarah brings all of her talents together under one roof to be the full-service life coach, trainer, mentor, consultant, and all around resource who helps artists not only show up as themselves in the world but provides them with help, resources, and step-by-step instructions to support them in building a life (and business) they are proud of. She has a combined social following of over 3,300 individuals spanning a variety of social networks as well as a budding email list.

It’s all in the details…

[accordion_group] [accordion title=”Coaching” icon=”glyphicons-group”] Erickson-Alumni-Coaching-ComboI recently became part of an alumni network of over 40,000 people in 27 countries through the Erickson Coaching International’s Art & Science of Coaching program, an International Coach Federation (ICF) Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP), and have opted to extend my studies with them throughout the end of this year to build my solution-focused coaching arsenal. I’ve also read over 40 books relating to coaching, psychology, self-improvement, mindset shifts, and recovery including Al-Anon, CoDA, and ACoA. I am currently working toward credentials with the ICF.

I received a scholarship to the prestigious Academy of Art University where I studied Illustration. I was honored to work with other artists, including instructors, who contributed to Disney, Pixar, 20th Century Fox Animation, FatCat Animation Studio, and Dreamworks films. My primary mentor was T. C. Starnes Jr. who is known for his work on Mulan, The Road to El Dorado, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Curious George, Rindin the Puffer, The Simpson Movie, Futurama, and King of the Hill among others. While at the AAU, Starnes compared my work to that of Tim Burton. After this, I went on to complete over 20 creative self-study courses and read over 50 books relating to art and design.

During my early 20s I founded two short-run offline print magazines, which shipped to 17 states and Canada, This Is A Public Service Announcement (Punk Culture) and Atomic Kulture Magazine (Rockabilly Culture) for the Idaho punk and rockabilly scene which featured interviews with artists Dick Dale of The Del-Tones,  Pat Thetic of Anti-Flag, The Eyeliners, and Keith Morris of Black Flag, Circle Jerks, and Off! as well as body piercer Jim Rotramel of Tuff Luck Tattoos (Dustin Mendenhall‘s studio), the CEO of retro revival Southern Motor Company, Hot Topic, as well as many other stories from punk and rockabilly community members both large and small.

I have been creating for over 25 years.

I started my studies in information technology and system administration at the age of 17 and went on to complete over 50 technology related self-study courses as well as acquiring course completion and mastery certificates from notable vendors such as Protech and IBM and I’ve read over 100 books relating to technology. In building my IT career, I’ve worked in IT for top 100 companies on the Fortune 500 list. My current organization landed on the Fortune 100 Best Companies To Work For list in both 2014 and 2015. Throughout my career, I have built websites and knowledge base systems for multiple organizations and have also worked as a freelance web developer and graphic designer. I am often called on for my ability to analyze research and data and document hidden connections that others are unable to identify. Since 2013 alone, I’ve helped over 2,639 customers, 1,095 of them, when surveyed, reported 4.85/5.00 satisfaction rating. During 3rd party quality assurance reviews, my knowledge, professionalism, and resolutions were all held to high standards and rated an average satisfaction rating of 96%.
